Extending Veeam's Endpoint Backup Technology to Service Providers, Simplifying Their Ability to Back Up, Recover and Manage Their Customers' Endpoint Devices via the LabTech Console

Orlando, FL: Automation Nation 2015, Booth No. 200 - June 2, 2015 - Veeam Software, the innovative provider of solutions that deliver Availability for the Modern Data Center, today announced that it has partnered with LabTech Software, the developer of the world's leading remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform designed to streamline IT service delivery, to deliver Veeam Endpoint BackupTM for LabTech. Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech simplifies backup and recovery of Windows-based desktops and laptops, including centralized management through the LabTech console, enabling service providers to:

  • Efficiently deploy and manage backups across numerous endpoints;
  • Monitor and report on endpoint backups from the LabTech console;
  • Perform remote bare-metal restores of failed devices to save time and money.

Veeam and LabTech Software will be demonstrating the new solution at LabTech Software's sixth annual Automation Nation, which will be held June 1-3, 2015 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orlando, FL.

Desktops and laptops (a.k.a. endpoints) are used to create and store huge amounts of business and personal data. However, according to recent studies, the cost of losing a single endpoint device (for example, a laptop) and its associated data can be in the region of $50,000, which includes the financial impact of data and intellectual property loss. To mitigate this, Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech is designed to give managed service providers (MSPs) using the LabTech RMM platform a single-pane-of-glass view of their customers' endpoint devices.

"Significant investments have been made into ensuring availability across the modern virtualized data center to support today's Always-On Business, yet endpoint protection has sometimes been overlooked," commented Mike Waguespack, Vice President, Global Cloud Group at Veeam. "Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech addresses this problem head-on. In a business environment when any data loss or even a few minutes of downtime is unacceptable, this new offering is a clear differentiator. Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech enables MSPs to offer a complete solution with high-speed, low-cost remote management and recovery of endpoints."

The solution leverages Veeam's endpoint backup technology and also provides centralized management of backup and recovery activities through the LabTech Control Center console. For example, managed service providers can deploy the endpoint backup agent, configure backup jobs, perform recovery tasks, monitor endpoint backup status, and even perform remote bare-metal restores-all from the LabTech console.

Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech is designed for new and existing managed service provider (MSP) partners of LabTech Software that are looking for an endpoint backup solution. These MSP partners might or might not be using Veeam Backup & Replication for their customers' virtual servers. However, a service provider can use Veeam products simultaneously to offer a complete solution based on Veeam that covers virtual servers (with Veeam Availability Suite and Veeam Backup & Replication, and Veeam Backup & Replication Plug-in for LabTech) and Windows-based desktops, laptops and even a few remaining physical servers (with Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech). Moreover, both products integrate with each other to enable additional functionality.

"We [LabTech] understand the power of Veeam's availability solutions and are delighted to be partnering with them to deliver Veeam Endpoint Backup for LabTech," said Jason Magee, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at LabTech Software. "The managed service provider market is a highly competitive environment, and many organizations claim to offer turnkey solutions that can manage a customer's entire IT infrastructure, but endpoints rarely get the same attention as the heart of the data center. We can now offer our 4,800 service providers and their customers a bullet-proof, non-intrusive solution that ensures availability across the entire IT architecture."
